Working within the busy Assessment, Ceremonies & Exams Team, this post is responsible for the delivery of all administrative processes which support the University’s Assessment Boards including the production of all student outcomes and relevant reports for the Board, and the processes and systems which support this. Working within the complex schedule prescribed by the academic year, the post holder will proactively plan and manage work to ensure delivery to challenging and often conflicting deadlines.

The post holder will have line management responsibilities for some members of the Assessment & Certification Team to collaboratively meet operational deadlines, whilst maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, effectiveness and customer focus.

You will operate with a supportive and proactive approach while providing appropriate and timely advice and guidance to staff, tutors and students.

About You

The post holder will be a highly organised, self-driven individual with exceptional communication skills and will have proven experience of leading and motivating a successful team in a busy, complex, deadline driven environment.

In addition, you will have a background of working within a regulatory or compliance environment, with significant experience in devising, implementing and monitoring procedures and systems. You will demonstrate a collaborative, solutions focused attitude, going above and beyond to deliver the highest quality service. Meticulous attention to detail is essential, along with excellent IT and numeracy skills. You will have a track record of continuous service improvement and significant experience in the capture and analysis of complex data sets.

  • Evidence of post-16 qualifications or significant relevant experience in an administrative post

Department

The post is located within Academic Registry. The Assessment & Certification Team, sits within the Assessment, Ceremonies and Exams section of the Student Administration department. Student Administration is responsible for all aspects of administrative support for the student life cycle from enrolment to graduation. The Assessment, Ceremonies and Exams teams work collaboratively to ensure that large scale, time sensitive, high-risk activities are achieved, including production of exam papers, exam scheduling and delivery, determination of student outcomes, delivery of Award Boards, production of certification for all awards and the planning and delivery of all graduation events.
