About The Job
The Department of Sociology at the University of Northampton is looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Sociology team as an associate lecturer who can contribute to our teaching related activities in both our established undergraduate and new postgraduate Sociology programmes.

The successful candidate will have the passion to provide a significant contribution to the sociological education of students of the highest standards based on advanced academic knowledge and experienced active blended workshop based case study approach teaching and coordination skills focused on one module and/or a range of modules in sociology around the sociological areas of complexity theory, work/volunteering/social action, public sociology, methods, organisations, and communication and media studies (as well as dissertation supervision and possibly other undergraduate/postgraduate sociological areas if required) to continue our success in achieving outstanding student satisfaction scores.
General duties will include coordination and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of core modules, skills development, assessment, personal tuition; contribute to on-going programme development and the range of administrative tasks necessary for the effective operation of the programmes; participate in internal and external networks related to the role in order that the University of Northampton will benefit from the knowledge that this will bring into the institution and also from the personal contacts that will be made; and engage in continuing professional development; and any other such duties that would normally be expected from an individual of this level: in respect of teaching, research, scholarship and curriculum responsibility.

Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject area or equivalent professional experience.
