We are looking for an individual to join our dynamic Digital and collaborative services Team. In this post, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation, support, and continuous improvement of digital and collaboration tools used across the university.

As a valued team member, you will:

  • Provide responsive and effective support to end users, managing incidents and service requests.
  • Document best practices and guidance to help users make the most of our digital solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance our digital and collaborative platforms by applying updates, patches, and improvements.
  • Work closely with the Digital, AV and Collaborative Services Manager to support testing, transition, and acceptance of new or updated services into live operation.

Our current digital systems portfolio includes:

  • Website hosting and development (including the public website)
  • Microsoft 365
  • SharePoint Online
  • Microsoft Teams including Teams for Telephony
  • Power Platform
  • Digital phone system (currently 8x8)
  • Artificial Intelligence mainly Copilot but we do investigate other tools.
  • ITSM tool

It is also a unique opportunity to join the team and be part of a University-wide project to bring digitisation and automation solutions to the institution.

About You

You will have over two years of experience as a SharePoint Online Administrator, along with a solid understanding of designing and developing SharePoint sites. A good working knowledge of development processes within the Power Platform is desirable, as is a proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies as the team evolves to meet the changing needs of the University.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to HNC/HND level or relevant experience demonstrating competence in similar IT roles

Desirable:

  • ITIL Foundation Certified
  • PRINCE2 Foundation Certified
  • Planning and Administering SharePoint 2016
  • Advanced Technologies of SharePoint 2016
  • Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals

IT Services

The IT Services department comprises around 60 staff, divided into 5 teams, and runs the information and technology services of the university. 

Digital and Collaborative services are responsible for looking after multiple systems across the university.  They also help with creating and transition into service new systems, manage support the SharePoint estate, support and assist in Team’s and events hosted on Teams, 2nd line support for the digital telephone system, assist in development and maintenance of power platform applications and reporting tool and assist in the development of processes within the team.
