About the job

Interview date: to be confirmed but expected to be 17 and/or 18 June 2025

We are thrilled to offer two exciting opportunities to become part of our expanding Physiotherapy academic team at the University of Northampton:

Vacancy 1: 0.85 FTE (31.45 hours per week) permanent post

Vacancy 2: 0.6 FTE (22.2 hours per week) maternity cover position, fixed-term for 12 months or until the return of the current post-holder, whichever is sooner.

These positions are perfect for individuals with experience in clinical practice or university settings who are passionate about teaching and supporting students in their academic and professional development.

You’ll be joining the team at a pivotal time of growth. Following good recruitment for our MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) course, we are set to launch our brand-new BSc Physiotherapy and BSc Physiotherapy Apprenticeship courses in September 2025.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching on our physiotherapy programmes.
  • Support students’ development through teaching, personal academic tutoring, dissertation supervision, and module leadership.
  • Participate in admissions, placement visits, recruitment interviews, and open days.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the faculty and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a supportive and expanding academic team.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative teaching practices, informed by contemporary research.
  • Engage with a diverse student body in a modern campus environment.
  • Opportunity to work in a post that fosters inter-professional collaboration, service user engagement, and simulation-based learning.

At the University of Northampton, we prioritise active blended learning to engage students and develop critical problem-solving skills, equipping them for success in their future practice.

Interested?

Please indicate in your application which post(s) you would like to be considered for. If you are seeking fewer hours than those advertised, please include that detail as well.

We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another.  With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.

This post is subject to a background disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service before any appointment can be confirmed.

About you

We are looking for a candidate with a genuine passion for teaching and supporting the development of student physiotherapists.
